ATech’s Managing Director, Sarah-Jane Peterschlingmann, has been awarded a Fellowship by the Australian Computer Society (ACS), recognising her outstanding contributions to the field of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) in Australia.

The ACS Fellowship is one of the highest honours in the ICT industry, reserved for individuals who have demonstrated distinguished leadership and innovation in the field. As a champion of technology and an advocate for inclusivity, Ms Peterschlingmann has been a trailblazer in shaping the future of ICT, particularly in the areas of mission-critical cloud hosting, remote working and neurodiversity.

Ms Peterschlingmann's pioneering work introduced the concept of a ‘mission critical’ software ecosystem, essential for running and supporting critical infrastructure. Her expertise in building resilient and reliable software systems has been applied across industries, including aviation and medical systems, and proved invaluable during the Brisbane floods of 2011. An early adopter of flexible working arrangements, she has long supported employees who are neurodiverse or disabled, fostering an inclusive workplace at ATech and beyond.

In addition to her achievements in technology, Ms Peterschlingmann is a mentor to many small tech start-ups, sharing her knowledge and experience to help the next generation of innovators thrive. She is also a respected speaker, having presented at numerous national and local ACS events, and co-author of an Amazon best-selling book on whole-hearted leadership.

Ms Peterschlingmann said, “I am thrilled to be named an ACS Fellow. It is such an honour to join the ranks of previous recipients of this prestigious accolade including Paul Gampe, Peter Maynard, Nick Tate and Beau Tydd.”

Starting as a web developer, Ms Peterschlingmann grew ATech from humble beginnings to an award-winning company with multi-million dollar revenues delivering cloud hosting and web development for mission critical websites. ATech specialises in catering for high scalability, availability and security requirements, and has built and hosted websites and web apps for organisations including Virgin Australia, Seqwater, Brisbane City Council and Airservices Australia.

Ms Peterschlingmann is Vice Chair of the ACS Queensland Branch Executive Committee. Her raft of awards include:

  • 2024 - Winner, ARN Women in ICT Award (WIICTA) - Entrepreneur category
  • 2024 - Winner, CQUniversity - Alumnus of the Year for Industry Excellence
  • 2022 - Winner, QLD Pearcey ICT Entrepreneur of the Year Award
