ATech’s owner and Managing Director Sarah-Jane Peterschlingmann has been announced as a finalist in the 27th annual Women in Technology (WiT) Awards for the 2024 Excellence in Industry Leadership Award.
The prestigious Queensland awards celebrate and recognise the remarkable women across STEM whose creativity, innovation, expertise, advocacy and leadership are driving positive change and inspiring more females to engage in STEM careers or study fields.
Starting out as a web developer in 2007, Ms Peterschlingmann has grown Brisbane-based ATech to become a leading mission-critical cloud hosting and web development company with multimillion dollar revenues.
ATech’s impressive list of high calibre clients includes Virgin Australia, Brisbane City Council and Seqwater.
Ms Peterschlingmann said, “I am delighted to be named a finalist for the WiT Awards. The prestigious awards are one of the biggest and longest-running recognition programs for women in STEM in Australia.
“The Excellence in Industry Leadership Award recognises the impact of female leaders inspiring excellence in STEM by empowering the next generation to challenge the status quo and innovate to drive growth and unlock new possibilities. It’s a huge honour.”
Ms Peterschlingmann was among digital innovators, research champions, scientists, technologists and female start-up founders and entrepreneurs that have been shortlisted for the 27th annual Women in Technology (WiT) Awards.
WiT Chair, Iyari Cevallos, said, “This year's awards theme is We Lift Each Other Up, one of WiT’s core values.
“When we lift each other up, we create a ripple effect of empowerment. By supporting and empowering fellow women to succeed, we cultivate thriving workplaces where everyone can flourish. Together, we build a brighter future for women in our workplaces and beyond.”
This year’s WiT Awards attracted hundreds of nominations across 11 award categories. The winners will be announced at the WiT Awards Gala Dinner at Brisbane's Royal International Convention Centre on Friday 27 September 2024.
